Beholders

Floating tyrants of nightmare and madness, beholders drift through the dark like living omens. Their many eyes watch everything, missing nothing, while every movement and glance carries the threat of sudden destruction. Paranoid, cruel, and utterly convinced of their own perfection, they bend lairs and lesser creatures to their will. A fitting choice for strange encounters, deep caverns, and stories where terror has far too many eyes.
